"Imagine That" is designed for active, energetic, enthusiastic, and imaginative children ages 3 to 5. Imagine That! classes encourage socialization, sharing, and participating in group activities. In addition to musicianship skills, there is an emphasis on developing pre-literacy skills in preparation for school.
This is the first Kindermusik program where children come to class on their own, without an adult partner. For the first half hour the children share musical experiences with and learn from their peers. Families join us for the final 15 minutes of the 45 minute class for engaging instrument ensembles, songs and dances... and to plan for a special home activity to prepare for the next class!
There are four independent "Imagine That" units. The upcoming January - May session features "Toys I Make, Trips I Take".
Think of it like taking a course inside a child's imagination. We'll use the theme of a toy shop to make our pretend-creations, using rhythm and songs with every imaginary saw, hammer, and nail. The result is building the preschooler's sense of a sequence of events, which is good for storytelling, as well as making his ideas a reality.
