“Marvellous Melody Makers” Children’s Choir
Tuesdays 3:15 – 4:15 pm beginning
September 12th, 2017 at 1314 Oliver Road
Who: Girls and boys who love to sing are invited to join us for our fifth season! Marvellous Melody Maker songs are suitable for youth ages 7 and up whose voices have not yet changed.
What: Learning how to sing with healthy, free vocal technique by singing appealing songs in a fun, friendly atmosphere. Our fall theme is “Canada 150” including folk songs, sacred, and secular songs which we will perform at a special “Family and Friends”
concert December 8th, 2017.
When: Tuesdays 3:15 – 4:15 pm
(Ontario’s Education Act permits absence from school for up to half a day per week for music lessons (Section 21(2)(e))
First Term: Sept. 12th – Dec. 8th (no rehearsal Oct. 31; concert Friday Dec. 8th, 7:00 pm at LBC)
Second Term: Jan. 30th – April 27th (no rehearsal March 13th; concert Friday April 27th, 7:00 pm at LBC)
Where: 1314 Oliver Road (Lakehead Baptist Church, just west of the expressway)
Fee: $150 per term
$150 upon registration. Second term payment due by Dec. 1st.
Sibling discount for second child concurrently enrolled, subtract $10 per term. (Note: missed rehearsals are still charged, so please
attend every week, health permitting. See Policies)
There are no special uniforms to buy or rent.
Music Deposit Fee: $30 (cash) is due first rehearsal September 12th, or you can bring it to your Pre-Season Meeting (see below). (This deposit is refunded when music is returned in original
condition. Chorister families are responsible for replacing lost or damaged music.) Please provide a waterproof tote or backpack for transporting your child’s music binder (provided). Keep a sharpened pencil in the tote, and carry a reclosable water bottle separately.
Pre-Season Meeting: Before our first rehearsal I need to hear all new choristers to discover how I may best help their voices
develop. Please call me at 345-4552 to set up a 15 minute
appointment. Children need to come
prepared to sing “O Canada”, “Happy Birthday”, and a song of their choice (without any accompaniment). (Note: this is not an ‘audition’ – all enthusiastic singers will be accepted!)
